What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I’ve leaned on this piece for big mileage days when conditions swing fast. The hybrid insulation keeps it warm without feeling stuffy, and the mobility is noticeably better than most ultralight down layers I’ve used. It disappears into my pack when I heat up, but I reach for it again the moment the wind picks up."We move quickly when the forecast looks uncertain, and the Mythic Alpine Light Jacket from Rab earns its place in our pack every time. The way it balances featherweight construction with real midlayer warmth makes it ideal for alpine pushes that start cold, warm up on the climb, and cool down again the moment we pause to take in the view. With Rab’s ultralight Pertex Quantum fabric wrapped around the hybrid insulation, we get dependable protection without feeling slowed by bulk.On technical ground, we trust the stitch-through baffles and articulated sleeves to keep our range of motion wide open. High-loft down through the core traps heat efficiently, while PrimaLoft Gold at moisture-prone zones keeps the jacket performing when we’re working hard. When the pace rises and the extra layer becomes too much, it compresses into a compact bundle that disappears into the pack until we need it again.
