What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "I like this fleece for trips where weight and breathability really matter. It packs down small, vents easily with the half zip, and layers cleanly under a shell. It’s warm enough for chilly starts but never feels stuffy once I’m moving." When we’re stacking miles on the trail or heading out for quick jaunts in changing conditions, the Summit Grid 1/2-Zip Fleece Jacket from Mountain Hardwear is the midlayer we rely on. Designed to be light, packable, and versatile, it fits seamlessly into everything from multi-day backpacking trips to casual travel days. The grid fleece construction traps warmth efficiently while allowing excess heat to escape during high-output movement. A half-zip front makes temperature regulation easy on climbs, while the mock neck and drop-tail hem add coverage when the air turns crisp. With raglan sleeves that move naturally and a streamlined design that layers effortlessly, the Summit Grid 1/2-Zip is built for comfort wherever the trail leads.
