What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I like this piece for cold hikes and active days when I don’t want a stiff puffy. The stretch fabric really makes a difference when reaching overhead or scrambling, and the Stretchdown baffles keep the insulation evenly distributed. It’s warm without feeling bulky, and the insulated hood seals in heat when temps drop."When winter air sharpens and the trail calls, we zip into the Stretchdown Light Full-Zip Hooded Jacket from Mountain Hardwear and keep exploring. Built to move, this innovative insulator combines lightweight warmth with dynamic stretch so we never feel restricted on steep climbs or technical approaches. The Stretchdown construction weaves 700-fill RDS-certified down into flexible baffles that secure insulation without limiting mobility. A super-stretch doubleweave fabric enhances durability and range of motion, letting us reach, scramble, and stride naturally. The insulated, adjustable hood adds extra protection on windy ridgelines, while elastic-bound cuffs and hem help trap heat. With a regular fit that layers easily under a shell or over a midlayer, this jacket delivers versatile warmth for active winter pursuits.
