What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I grab the Ghost Whisperer UL Down Jacket when weight truly matters—early alpine starts, long approaches, or any trip where every ounce counts. The 1000-fill down warms up fast, and the whole jacket disappears into a pocket when I don’t need it. It’s the layer I bring even when I think I won’t need one."We rely on the Ghost Whisperer UL Down Jacket when we want serious warmth that barely registers on the scale. Built with Mountain Hardwear’s lightest ripstop and filled with premium 1000-fill down, this jacket brings surprising heat to cold ridgelines, late-season climbs, and pre-dawn skin tracks. Even with that high loft, it still slips effortlessly under a shell and moves with us when the terrain gets technical. The synthetic-insulated cuffs add protection in the places most likely to see moisture, and the water-resistant finish helps keep the down performing through passing flurries or mist. When conditions warm up, the jacket collapses into its own pocket and clips to our pack so we can keep moving unencumbered. For ultralight travelers and alpine obsessives, the Ghost Whisperer UL Down Jacket remains a benchmark for warmth-to-weight performance.
