What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I’ve worn these on long scrambling approaches where the terrain shifts from trail to rock pretty quickly. The stretch fabric makes high steps and awkward moves feel natural, and the built-in belt keeps the fit dialed when I’m carrying a pack. They’re tough enough for granite and still comfortable enough to wear all day."Big alpine days demand gear that keeps up from the first step out of camp to the final push for the summit. The Chockstone Alpine Pant from Mountain Hardwear is built for exactly that kind of mission, combining durable softshell protection with the freedom to move confidently across rock, trail, and rugged terrain. The tough double-weave fabric provides abrasion resistance for rough granite and unpredictable environments while maintaining four-way stretch for unrestricted mobility. Articulated knees help maintain a natural stride on steep approaches and technical scrambles. An integrated belt allows quick adjustments for a secure fit, while zippered thigh pockets keep small essentials accessible without interfering with movement. With streamlined cuff cinches that hook to laces to prevent ride-up, the Chockstone Alpine Pant is ready for early starts, long routes, and demanding days in the mountains.
