What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "I like this PTFE brake cable set because it noticeably reduces friction at the lever. The coating on the stainless cable glides smoothly inside the housing, which really helps with braking feel on older calipers or mechanical setups. The housing is compressionless enough to keep things responsive, and the kit includes everything you need for a clean install."We use the Road PTFE Brake Cable & Housing Set when we want crisp, predictable braking from a mechanical rim-brake setup. The PTFE-coated stainless cable moves smoothly through the lubricated housing, giving us dependable lever feel whether we’re riding fast descents, urban routes, or long training loops. The compression-resistant housing helps translate more of our lever pull directly into braking force for better control on rolling terrain. With two cable lengths, two housing sections, endcaps, and crimps included, the kit gives us everything needed for a clean, efficient installation. Whether upgrading tired stock cables or refreshing a favorite road bike, it’s a simple way to restore confidence and braking precision.
