What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I wore the Torque Mountain Short on a long hut-to-hut traverse last summer and the Matrix™ double weave fabric impressed me every day of the trip. It dried fast after creek crossings, moved completely freely on the technical sections, and the four zippered pockets kept my valuables secure through every scramble without any bouncing or digging in."Summer heat and technical mountain terrain are a combination that demands the right legwear, and the Rab Torque Mountain 6in Short was purpose-built for exactly that. Lightweight, fast-drying, and constructed from a fabric that stretches as freely as the terrain demands, these are the shorts that disappear on the body and let the mountain have your full attention.Rab built the Torque Mountain Short from Matrix™ stretch double weave nylon at 182gsm, a durable and lightweight fabric finished with a fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment that sheds light moisture and dries fast after unexpected rain or stream crossings on the approach. The double weave construction delivers genuine stretch and mobility through high steps, wide moves, and the awkward body positions that rocky alpine terrain regularly demands, without sacrificing the durability needed to handle a full season of hard use. A part-elasticated waistband with double snap closure and YKK zip fly keeps the fit comfortable and adjustable across a full day of varied movement, low-profile bonded belt loops offer an additional fit option, and four zippered pockets including a hidden rear pocket keep valuables locked down from trailhead to summit and back.
