What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"When I’m packing light but still need rain protection, these are my go-to waterproof pants. They weigh next to nothing and take up barely any space in my pack, making them perfect for thru-hikes and mountain runs. The breathable Pertex® Shield fabric keeps me dry without overheating, and I love how easy they are to pull on over my shoes when the weather turns. Once the rain clears, I just stuff them into their integrated storage pocket and move on."Every ounce matters when we’re pushing for the summit or covering serious miles on a thru-hike. That’s why we pack the Phantom Pants—an ultralight, barely-there rain shell that delivers reliable protection without weighing us down. Designed with Pertex® Shield 2.5-layer fabric, these pants balance waterproofing with exceptional breathability, keeping us dry without overheating during high-output pursuits. The ergonomic fit and articulated knees ensure unrestricted movement on technical terrain, while the part-elasticated waistband and adjustable leg openings make layering over trail shoes a breeze. When the skies clear, these pants stuff down into their integrated pocket, disappearing into our packs until we need them again. Whether we’re racing the rain or packing for unpredictable conditions, these pants are a trail essential we’ll never leave behind.
