What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"This is my default layer when the morning starts cold and I'm not sure what the day will bring. The fleece is soft without feeling flimsy, and the stand-up collar keeps the wind off my neck on the walk from the car to the trailhead."Some jackets are technical. The Patagonia Classic Synchilla Fleece Jacket is just right. It is the layer that ends up on the back of the chair, the hook by the door, and the passenger seat of the truck because it is genuinely useful in all of those moments between the big adventures. Double-sided recycled polyester fleece holds in warmth without adding bulk, and an anti-pilling treatment keeps it looking sharp long after the hundredth wear.Elastic binding at the hem, neck, and cuffs seals out drafts when the wind picks up, while the stand-up collar adds a bit of extra coverage without needing a hood. Set-in sleeves sit cleanly under a pack harness for trail days, and the nylon contrast trim reinforces high-wear areas so the silhouette holds its shape season after season. A zippered chest pocket and two hand pockets keep the essentials covered whether the destination is a ridgeline or a coffee shop.
