What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I wore this on an early morning climb approach in the Wasatch when the temperature dropped fast, and the trim profile let me layer it right under my harness without feeling bulky. The stretch fabric moved with me through every reach, and by the time I stopped to fuel up, I stuffed it into its own pocket and clipped it to my harness. It's become my grab-and-go layer for cold starts and casual trips around town."Mountain Hardwear's Stretchdown Light Full-Zip Hooded Jacket meets you at the trailhead before sunrise, when the air is thin and every extra layer counts. Pull the hood up, zip to the chin, and step into a morning that still holds onto winter even as spring pushes through the valley. This jacket rides along on scrambles above treeline, early flights out, and quick errands across town, always ready to trap warmth the moment you stop moving.Underneath that quiet exterior sits 750 fill RDS certified down, held in place by a Cohesion insulation interlock that keeps every baffle lofted and warm even after it's been stuffed into a pack for days. Two zippered hand pockets keep essentials secure through the wind, while the insulated hood and elastic-bound cuffs and hem seal out drafts without adding bulk. It folds down small enough to disappear into its own pocket, so it travels as easily as it insulates.
