What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "I reach for this jacket when the storm totals are high and the plan is bell-to-bell laps. It keeps snow completely out, vents well when things heat up, and has the coverage I want for riding deep conditions. The relaxed fit layers easily without feeling sloppy." When overnight storms refresh the mountains and first chair is non-negotiable, we zip into the First Tracks Jacket from Mountain Hardwear and head straight for the lift. Built for riding through active snowfall, this shell keeps us dry, comfortable, and focused on the turns instead of the weather. The waterproof Dry.Q shell blocks wet snow while staying breathable on demanding runs, and underarm vents help regulate temperature when the pace picks up. An integrated powder skirt, helmet-compatible hood, and soft wrist gaiters seal out snow when conditions get deep, while a roomy fit leaves space for insulation on the coldest days. With smart pocket placement and dependable storm protection, this jacket is made for chasing powder from first tracks to last lift.
