What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I wore the WarmCube Active Novus Zip Jacket on a cold morning trail run where I was constantly going from hard efforts to standing around at the trailhead, and it handled both ends of that range better than anything else I have tried. The WarmCube insulation genuinely circulates air when you are moving, and traps heat when you stop, so you are not constantly zipping and unzipping trying to regulate temperature. It is a smarter puffy."The climb is steep, and the air is cold, but two minutes into the skin track, you are already too warm in your puffy and reaching for the zipper. That familiar problem is exactly what Marmot set out to solve with the WarmCube Active Novus Zip Jacket, and the solution is as clever as it is effective. WarmCube Active insulation technology circulates air through the jacket while you are moving, then traps heat inside its internal cube structure the moment you slow down or stop, keeping pace with your output instead of fighting against it.The result is a jacket that pulls off something most insulated layers cannot: staying genuinely comfortable across a wide range of effort levels without constant adjustment. Thermal R synthetic fill and 3M Thinsulate Featherless insulation keep warmth locked in even when conditions turn damp, and the recycled ripstop nylon shell holds up to the kind of daily use that comes with a jacket you actually reach for every time. Gusseted underarms keep movement unrestricted on steep terrain, and the clean zip front makes it an easy piece to throw under a shell when the weather calls for a full system.
