What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:“I take the Rime IN Hooded Jacket on everything from shoulder-season hikes to backcountry ski days. The stretch panels let me move freely, and the insulation keeps me warm even if I’m sweating. Packs down small, layers easily, and fits under a helmet—total win.”We need layers that work just as hard as we do in the mountains, and the Rime IN Hooded Jacket delivers. Designed by Mammut for fast-paced pursuits in changing weather, this hybrid insulated layer blends mobility, protection, and packability into a single alpine essential. Whether we’re gearing up for a windy summit push or cooling down after a skintrack climb, it’s one of our most versatile go-tos.Mammut LOOPSINSULATION™ provides breathable, low-profile warmth—even when conditions get damp—while strategic stretch zones improve airflow and freedom of movement. The fitted hood slides comfortably under a helmet, and the PFC-free DWR sheds light moisture without the harmful chemicals. Two backpack-compatible side pockets, an elastic hem, and a zippered inner pocket round out this mountain-minded midlayer.
