What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I have put the Renegade GTX Mid Boot through two full seasons of long day hikes and a handful of overnight trips, and they have never let me down on wet terrain. The GORE-TEX lining kept my feet completely dry through a creek crossing and a full afternoon of rain on a route in the Cascades, and the Vibram Evo outsole grips on wet rock in a way that gives me real confidence on technical sections."The pass is still two thousand feet above, and the trail ahead is wet, rooted, and uneven in all the ways that matter. The Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Boot was built for exactly this kind of day, the kind where the terrain keeps asking questions and your footwear needs to have answers. Nubuck leather uppers bring durability and structure to the upper without adding unnecessary bulk, while the GORE-TEX lining works quietly underneath to keep water out and let vapor escape so your feet stay dry from both directions.Underfoot, a double-injection DuraPU midsole absorbs shock across long descents and uneven ground, and the MONOWRAP frame wraps the midsole up through the lower sidewall for a level of lateral stability that makes off-camber terrain feel far less precarious. The full-length nylon shank adds rigidity where you need it most, and the Vibram Evo outsole delivers traction on wet rock, packed dirt, and loose trail alike. The gusseted tongue seals out debris on brushy singletrack, and the women's specific last means the fit is shaped around the actual geometry of a woman's foot rather than a scaled-down men's version. These are boots that disappear on your feet after the first few miles, which is exactly what a great hiking boot should do.
