What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I started wearing the Kari Traa Emilie High Waist Capri as a midlayer under shell pants on cold powder days and quickly realized it was earning its spot on every single cold-weather outing I had planned. The elastic side panels with brushed fleece lining move with you through dynamic terrain without ever bunching under a shell, and the high waist with drawcord keeps the fit dialed and gap-free on the longest days."Cold legs have a way of ending a good day early. The Kari Traa Emilie High Waist Capri is built to make sure that does not happen, delivering reliable down insulation in a slim, low-profile package that layers seamlessly under snow pants or stands on its own during high-output cold days when a full shell feels like too much. The quilted face fabric locks 400-450 fill power responsibly sourced down in place across both the insulated front and back panels, targeting coverage where heat loss hits hardest on long days in the cold. Elastic side panels lined with interior brushed fleece stretch freely with your movement and add a layer of soft warmth against the skin, keeping things comfortable without restricting the hip flexion that skiing and skinning both demand. A high waist with an integrated drawcord lets you dial the fit precisely, eliminating gaps between layers that cold air loves to find. PFC-free DWR treatment sheds light moisture from the outer face fabric, and the below-knee length keeps coverage right where you want it without interfering with boot fit or ski binding access.
