What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I use this piece as a cold-weather midlayer, and it strikes the perfect balance between insulation and breathability. The RealFleece™ fabric feels ultra-soft and warm, and the thumb loops and dipped hem are features I really appreciate on high-output days."When performance layering matters most, we trust the Merino Blend 300 RealFleece™ Descender Zip Jacket to keep us moving in the cold. This piece is part of the most versatile line in the Descender series—crafted with a brushed RealFleece™ merino and TENCEL™ Lyocell blend that traps warmth without adding weight or bulk. Whether we’re powering through frosty trail runs or touring in deep backcountry snow, it delivers the breathability and thermal retention we need to stay in the zone.Smart technical details elevate its utility: gusseted underarms for natural movement, thumb loops to keep sleeves secure under gloves, and flatlock seams and offset shoulders to reduce friction under a pack. Zippered hand pockets offer secure storage, and the dipped hem provides extra coverage where we need it most. It’s a high-performance layer we rely on from first frost to full-on winter.
