For wintry treks and added warmth on frigid tours, we zip into the Helly Hansen Verglas Insulator Jacket. The lofty fill traps heat without weighing us down or restricting our movements, while the treated exterior sheds flurries and spindrift. Icy winds are hard-pressed to find a way in thanks to the tall collar, elastic-bound cuffs, and cinchable hem. When the sky releases a fresh powder dump, this layer's semi-fitted cut slides easily under our shell.
