What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I stuffed the Trail Windbreaker Jacket into my vest pocket at the trailhead on a day that looked calm and pulled it out twice before I hit the summit. At 80 grams, it costs nothing to carry, and the articulated sleeves meant my arm swing never felt compromised when I had it on at pace."Wind on an exposed ridge or a high-output trail run is a different kind of problem than rain, and it calls for a different kind of solution. The Trail Windbreaker Jacket was built specifically for that moment, delivering real wind protection in a package that weighs 80 grams and stuffs into its own chest pocket. Made from N66 nylon with DWR treatment, it blocks the elements without adding any meaningful weight to a kit that's already been pared down to the essentials.Every design choice here was made in service of speed and simplicity. The elastic hood and cuffs fit snugly without any cords to manage mid-run, the articulated sleeves keep arm movement completely free at pace, and the single-sided hem drawcord adjusts the waist without the usual hardware overhead. When conditions ease off, it packs away in seconds and disappears back into the chest pocket until the next ridge or the next forecast change.
