EA7 is Emporio Armani's sportswear line — named after the number worn by Armani's favourite footballer — and it occupies a specific position in the designer childrenswear market: premium-brand quality and recognition combined with a sportswear and athleisure design language that makes it more wearable for active boys than the mainline would be. The Train Core ID down jacket in black is a central piece in that proposition. Made in China from a 100% polyamide shell — nylon rather than polyester, which is lighter, more abrasion-resistant and packs down more compactly — with down filling, it's a technically capable jacket that also carries one of the most recognisable logos in the designer sportswear category.
Black is the most practical colourway for a down jacket at this level. It works over school uniform, sportswear, casual weekend outfits and smarter casual occasions equally, and it doesn't show the surface marks that lighter-coloured down jackets accumulate through daily use. The EA7 branding and Train Core ID detailing are visible but not dominating, which keeps the jacket reading as a considered piece rather than a pure logo item. For boys in the 4–16 age range who are active and need outerwear that performs through a school day as well as weekend activities, this jacket covers both without requiring a wardrobe compromise.
Check the sewn-in care label for full instructions — down jackets in polyamide shells typically require a gentle or delicates cycle at a low temperature. Tumble dry on a low heat with dryer balls or clean tennis balls to redistribute the down filling and prevent clumping after washing. Store loosely rather than compressed to preserve the loft and insulation performance of the down over time. Avoid dry cleaning unless specified on the label.
