What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I grabbed the Columbia Trailborne Jacket for a wet trail running race where conditions were unpredictable from the start line and it handled everything without once getting in my way. The back venting kept me from overheating on the climbs, and stowing the hood into the collar when the rain let up took about two seconds without breaking stride."Trail running in variable weather is a negotiation, and the gear that wins is whatever gets out of the way fastest. The Columbia Trailborne Jacket is built around that idea, leading with Omni-Shield technology that repels moisture and resists stains before they can soak into the fabric, so a muddy, wet trail stays a problem for the ground and not your jacket. When the rain picks up, the hood pulls out of the collar in seconds. When it stops, it disappears just as fast.Back venting keeps airflow moving during hard efforts on the climb, and the regular fit sits cleanly over a base layer without excess material catching in the wind. Reflective details extend visibility into low-light morning starts or evening finishes, and the whole jacket packs into its own hand pocket when the weather clears and the pack space is needed elsewhere. Binding on the hood, cuffs, and hem adds a clean finished look that carries this one off the trail without looking out of place.
