Why choose the Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z Lens in Black? This lens is a standout in the Hybrid RF Zoom lens series, offering exceptional versatility and performance for both photographers and videographers. With its internal zooming and focusing capabilities, this lens supports the use of RF Extender 1.4x and 2x, extending your reach throughout the 70-200mm zoom range. This makes it an ideal telephoto zoom solution for a wide array of applications, from weddings and events to photojournalism, portraiture, studio work, and video creation. The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z Lens boasts a consistent f/2.8 maximum aperture across its entire zoom range, thanks to the large diameter RF mount and short back focus. This feature allows you to shoot continuously up to 200mm without the need to switch lenses, providing flexibility for both photo and movie shooting. For those seeking even greater range, this lens is compatible with RF1.4x and RF2.0x Extenders, offering extended focal lengths of 280mm and 400mm, respectively. For videographers, the optional Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E2 and PZ-E2B enhance the lens's capabilities, enabling smooth and precise zoom control during movie shooting. These adapters can be operated remotely via the Canon Camera Connect and EOS Utility apps, making single-person video shooting more accessible. The PZ-E2B adapter also features a 20-pin port for compatibility with cinema or broadcast lens accessories. The lens's optical performance is further enhanced by its eleven aperture blades, which create a beautiful, almost circular bokeh effect, even when stopped down. This, combined with the wide f/2.8 aperture, allows for faster shutter speeds in low-light conditions, reducing the risk of subject blur. The iris ring provides precise aperture control, allowing for manual exposure adjustments and background blur control, akin to cinema lens operability. With a close-focusing distance of approximately 1.6 ft./0.49m and a maximum magnification of 0.3x at 200mm, this lens captures intricate details with clarity. Focus shifts during zooming are minimal, and the lens supports focus breathing correction for consistent angle of view during video recording, particularly in close-up shots. The built-in optical Image Stabilization offers up to 5.5 stops of shake correction, ensuring sharp results even in challenging lighting conditions. When paired with an EOS R-series camera featuring In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS), the Coordinated IS provides up to 7.5 stops of correction. The lens also includes an IS Mode switch for quick adjustments between three IS Modes, catering to different shooting scenarios.Equipped with two Nano USM motors, the lens delivers quiet and smooth autofocus, essential for movie recording. The Nano USM technology maintains focus while zooming, minimizing aberration fluctuations during high-speed burst or movie shooting.Designed for excellent handling, the lens features internal zooming, internal focusing, and a fixed-length lens barrel, ensuring a balanced center of gravity. It includes a tripod mount with a lock release button for easy attachment and detachment, as well as the bundled LH-E1 lens holder for additional support when using a rig.Built to withstand the elements, the Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z Lens is constructed with weather-resistant sealing and a fluorine coating on the front lens, protecting against water, oil, and fingerprints.
