What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I have been running the Big Agnes Battle Mountain Series Footprint under my Battle Mountain 2 on every alpine trip where the terrain is rocky and unforgiving, and the PU-coated ripstop holds up to the kind of sharp, abrasive ground that would chew through an unprotected tent floor in a season or two. At eight ounces it adds almost nothing to an already substantial expedition kit, and the peace of mind it provides on a serious alpine objective is worth every gram."A four-season expedition tent is one of the most significant investments in any alpine kit, and the Big Agnes Battle Mountain Series Footprint is how you protect that investment when the terrain gets serious. Sharp rock, abrasive scree, and the kind of ground that expedition objectives tend to put you on will work on an unprotected floor over time, and this footprint stands between your tent and all of it.Big Agnes built the Battle Mountain Series Footprint from PU-coated nylon ripstop with a 1200mm waterproof rating that handles ground moisture from below while the tough face fabric resists the abrasion that comes with repeated nights on harsh alpine terrain. Compatible with both the Battle Mountain 2 and Battle Mountain 3 tents, it adds a durable sacrificial layer to the bottom of the system without meaningfully adding to pack weight, coming in at eight ounces for the two-person size and thirteen ounces for the three-person. Backed by a lifetime warranty, the Battle Mountain Series Footprint earns its place on every serious expedition where the tent underneath it needs to come home in the same condition it left.
