Please note that ASOS’ circular design techniques do not address all aspects nor all parts of the product’s lifecycle, just those identified below.
At a minimum, the product must achieve our Silver Standard, meaning it addresses selected criteria in both the ‘Raw Materials’ and ‘Production’ lifecycle phases and at least one other lifecycle phase (either ‘In Use’ or ‘After Use’). Our Gold Standard meets all four of these lifecycle phases.
The ASOS Circular Design Techniques that need to be met as a minimum are:
• Raw materials phase: being made from a certain percentage of recycled, renewable and/or regenerative materials.
• Production phase: setting minimum chemical requirements for wet processing facilities involved in production of the products
• and either In use phase: designed for physical durability.
• or After use phase: designed for recyclability.
Achieving some of the design features requires specific action to be taken by the customer to realise the benefits. Where this is the case, we’ve explained below what action is required.
