What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "I use this as my go-to midlayer for touring and mountaineering days when I know I’ll be moving hard. It blocks enough wind to stay comfortable on transitions but breathes extremely well on the climb. The stretch panels and seamless shoulders make a noticeable difference when wearing a pack all day." We pull on the Summit Casaval Hybrid Hoodie when the objective demands steady movement and reliable warmth without overheating. Built by The North Face for fast-paced days in the mountains, this layer shines on skin tracks, alpine approaches, and long summit pushes where breathability matters as much as insulation. It’s the piece we trust when conditions change quickly and stopping to swap layers isn’t an option.Ventrix insulation delivers lightweight warmth that adapts as we move, while perforated panels and targeted venting dump excess heat on steep climbs. Stretch fabric through the underarms and hem keeps mobility unrestricted, and the helmet-compatible hood seals in warmth when the wind picks up. Designed to layer cleanly under a shell or wear on its own, the Summit Casaval Hybrid Hoodie is a technical midlayer built for high-output mountain travel.
