What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I’ve worn these on hot, humid hikes and appreciate how quickly they dry. The fabric has just enough stretch for scrambling, and the thigh pockets hold essentials without getting in the way. They’re lightweight but tougher than they look, a solid choice for mixed terrain."When the trail turns muddy or the brush thickens, the Basin Pant from The North Face keeps us moving without hesitation. The recycled, quick-drying fabric sheds light moisture and breathes well through long climbs, while the added stretch gives us freedom to step high, scramble, or sit comfortably by the fire at day’s end. With a fit that feels relaxed but ready for work, these pants become a dependable partner for day hikes and multi-mile outings.Storage is streamlined and functional. Zippered thigh pockets secure larger trail items, and the side and back pockets keep smaller essentials within easy reach. A gusseted crotch boosts mobility during technical movements, and the PFC-free DWR treatment provides extra protection when we push into wet grass or hit a passing drizzle. Durable enough for rugged hikes yet comfortable for casual use, these pants adapt well to the demands of changing terrain.
