Be captivated by the Sony FE 28-70mm f/2 GM Lens, a groundbreaking addition to Sony's G Master series that redefines the standard zoom lens category with its constant F2 maximum aperture. This lens is meticulously crafted to deliver prime lens quality, making it an ideal choice for professional photographers and videographers who demand exceptional performance for portraits and a wide range of other subjects. The lens's F2 aperture, coupled with its advanced optical design, ensures unparalleled sharpness and contrast, rivaling that of prime lenses. Its compact and lightweight design enhances mobility, offering extraordinary creative possibilities for both still photography and videography. The smooth, quiet power zoom is particularly suited for movie shooting, with autofocus capabilities that remain active even during zooming. Built-in optical stabilization works seamlessly with in-body stabilization, including Active Mode, to significantly reduce blur in video footage. Additionally, focus breathing is expertly controlled to minimize shifts in the angle of view while focusing, ensuring smooth and stable imagery. The lens also supports body breathing compensation, with metadata that allows for compensation during post-production editing.Experience sharp, refined rendering with this unique constant F2 standard zoom lens. The optics feature large elements crafted using advanced techniques, including three XA (extreme aspherical) elements, which ensure high corner-to-corner resolution at F2 throughout the zoom range. One ED (extra-low dispersion) and three Super ED elements effectively reduce chromatic aberration, while Nano AR Coating II minimizes flare and ghosting. The floating focus system enhances close-focus resolution, and the renowned G Master bokeh adds a stunning dimensionality to your images. This compact, mobile lens is packed with superb optics and functionality, delivering image quality that rivals the best primes. Innovative technologies, including advanced optics and XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors, are housed within a lens that measures only 92.9 x 139.8 mm (3-3/4 x 5-5/8) and weighs just 918 g (32.4 oz). Enjoy stress-free shooting with all the advantages of a standard zoom lens without compromising on image quality. The lens's precise and tenacious autofocus tracking, powered by four XD linear motors and the latest algorithm, ensures reliable focus tracking and instant response. This is crucial in professional scenarios such as weddings or sports events, where missing a single frame can be detrimental. The lens is fully compatible with the 120 fps burst capability of the a9 III, maintaining smooth tracking even while zooming.Designed for refined, expressive movie production, the lens effectively reduces focus breathing for smooth movie imagery with minimal angle-of-view instability. Rack focus and zoom effects can be achieved with the F2 depth of field, creating natural transitions that guide the viewer's eye. Achieving critical focus for high frame rate 4K 120p/FHD 240p recording is straightforward, thanks to the quiet operation of the XD linear motors and a new aperture unit. Body breathing compensation is also supported.Operability and reliability are tailored to meet professional needs, with Linear Response MF providing intuitive focus control. The adjustable zoom ring torque allows for easy customization, and an aperture ring with a click ON/OFF switch offers hands-on aperture control.
