The Ralph Lauren Baby Girls Chambray Peplum Dress in Blue is a designer baby girls' dress from Ralph Lauren Kids, cut in a peplum silhouette and made from 100% cotton chambray in a New Medium Wash — a soft, washed blue that's gentle in tone and easy to dress up or down. Available in sizes 6 months through to 24 months, it's a considered choice for parents looking for a baby dress that's comfortable enough for everyday wear but polished enough for a special occasion.
The peplum cut — with a fitted bodice and a flared peplum hem — gives this dress more shape and visual interest than a standard shift or smock dress, making it feel occasion-ready without being impractical. Chambray is a plain-weave 100% cotton fabric that's lightweight, breathable, and soft against delicate baby skin. The medium wash finish gives it a relaxed, lived-in feel rather than a stiff or formal look. Manufactured in India to Ralph Lauren's production standards; the HS code (6104420000) confirms a woven cotton dress. Also part of the Sibling Style collection — coordinates well with the Ralph Lauren Baby Boys Striped Jersey Short Set in Green for sibling dressing.
Practical Buying Advice
Fit: Peplum dresses for babies are typically cut with a fitted bodice and a flared skirt section. Check the size guide by weight and height rather than age alone — baby sizing varies more than older children's sizing, and a comfortable bodice fit is the priority.
Care: 100% cotton chambray is machine-washable. Wash on a cool cycle to preserve the medium wash finish and prevent uneven fading. Hang or lay flat to dry rather than tumble drying where possible. Always check the care label.
Nappy-friendly: The peplum hem gives a little extra room and coverage, which is practical for nappy wear. Check that the bodice has enough give or a snap/button opening at the back or base for easy nappy changes.
Gifting: A peplum dress in a classic washed blue is a strong gifting choice for baby showers, christenings, or first birthdays — it's distinctive enough to feel considered without being too specific in taste.
