From the Williamsburg for Port 68 Collection, created in collaboration with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the Portsmouth Pineapple Tray features a floral design interpreted from an early nineteenth-century wallpaper. The pineapple was a rare and expensive fruit in the colonies, and symbolized the spirit of hospitality. As such, it was a popular and recurring design motif in 18th-century decorative arts, and still the sign of hospitality today.
