HISTORY ASPECTS - The Soviet Kliment Voroshilov (KV-3) heavy tank was developed during the early years of World II, with the goal of providing the Soviet Union with a heavily armored and heavily armed tank that could stand up to the German Panzer tanks. The KV-3 featured a heavily armored hull and turret, as well as a powerful 76mm main . The KV-3 first saw combat in the winter of 1941, during the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The tanks were initially deployed to the Leningrad front, where they were used to help defend the city against the German siege. Despite their heavy armor, the KV-3 tanks were outmatched by the German Tiger and Panther tanks, and many were lost in the fierce fighting. The KV-3 was also used in the Battle of Moscow, where it played a key role in stopping the German advance on the city. The tanks were used to support Soviet infantry and hold off German tanks, and their heavy armor proved to be a formidable obstacle for the German forces. Despite their heavy armor, the KV-3 tanks were not without their flaws. They were slow and cumbersome, and their 76mm main was not powerful enough to penetrate the thick armor of the German Tiger and Panther tanks. Additionally, the tanks were plagued by mechanical issues and were often prone to breakdowns. After the , the KV-3 tanks were phased out of service and replaced by newer, more modern tanks. Today, only a handful of KV-3 tanks survive, and they are highly sought after by military history enthusiasts and collectors. The Soviet Kliment Voroshilov KV-3 Heavy Tank in winter camouflage (1 - 72 Scale) is a representation of the tank as it appeared during the winter of 1941 to 1942. These tanks were painted with a white camouflage scheme to blend in with the snowy terrain and provide a tactical advantage.
