The Ortovox Switchback 32L Backpack opens through a fully fold-out back panel, putting the main compartment and a separate safety compartment, holding both emergency gear and a light ice axe, within easy reach. Shoulder and hip pockets, a side compartment for crampons and skins, and rope access round out a pack built to handle bigger, more demanding alpine days without adding bulk. Ski carry systems and a helmet net give it the versatility to adapt as conditions change through a long tour. What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I've run drills pulling the ice axe from the safety compartment through the fold-out back, and it's faster than digging through a toploader ever was. Every second matters when that compartment is the one you actually need."
