The slasher flick spawned a huge range of sequels, spin-offs and copycat thriller films, and is rated as one of the most successful franchises to date. Just don't let him catch you...
Jason Voorhees drowned in Camp Crystal Lake, his mother blamed the camp workers for her child's death. Now Jason's mother has died, hes back and out to avenge his mothers death with a machete and a hockey mask. In 1980, Friday The 13th was released which created the sub-genre for slasher films with it's gory moments and sharp weaponry.
