Nike’s story starts small. Bill Bowerman in his kitchen, tinkering with rubber and a waffle iron, and ending up with a sole no one had seen before. The shoe that came from it later picked up the name Moon Shoe, thanks to the prints it left on the track — a bit like the moon landing. More than five decades on, Nike brings it back, the one that started it all. Slim nylon uppers, leather Swoosh, that thin waffle sole. Not much has changed, and that’s the point. The legacy still stands.
