What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "This is one of the most responsive hikers I’ve tried. The BOA system dials in the fit perfectly, and the SpeedARC midsole makes every stride feel bouncy and efficient. It’s got sneaker-like comfort but enough durability and traction for serious trails." The Merrell Speedarc Surge Boa Hiking Shoe sets a new standard for fast hiking footwear, combining trail-ready durability with athletic energy return. Its innovative SpeedARC™ midsole system uses dual layers of FloatPro+™ supercritical foam and a nylon FlexPlate™ to deliver twice the cushioning and 100% more energy return than traditional hiking boots—making every stride feel powerful and efficient from trailhead to summit. The dual BOA® Fit System provides a micro-adjustable, precision lockdown that won’t slip no matter the terrain, while the lightweight Matryx® upper—woven with Kevlar® filaments—offers breathable comfort with serious abrasion resistance. Underfoot, Merrell’s Quantum Grip™ rubber outsole provides durable traction on everything from loose rock to wet sidewalks, ensuring confidence in any environment. From city streets to alpine trails, the Speedarc Surge Boa redefines what a hiking shoe can be: responsive, secure, and built for those who move fast and demand more from every mile.
