What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I grab this when I know I’ll be moving fast in the cold. It dumps heat well on the climb yet still feels warm when I stop, which is rare for a synthetic piece. The fit also layers cleanly under a shell."When we’re chasing mileage in the cold—moving from frosty trailheads to windswept ridges—we look for a midlayer that stays comfortable from the first step to the final descent. The Marmot WarmCube Active Novus Jacket delivers in those moments, giving us reliable warmth without slowing our pace. Marmot’s WarmCube Active Novus insulation circulates heat instead of trapping moisture, letting our temperature settle naturally during steep climbs or variable-weather pushes. As the day shifts, the recycled-nylon ripstop shell sheds abrasion from rocks and pack straps, while the fixed hood cuts wind rolling across exposed terrain. Zippered hand pockets keep essentials secure when we’re on the move, and the jacket’s light, easy-packing build makes it a constant in our alpine kit. Whether we’re climbing, skinning, or just staying out longer than planned, the WarmCube Active Novus Jacket keeps us prepared for the cold that follows us above tree line.
