What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I was impressed by how warm this jacket feels for being fully synthetic. LOOPINSULATION traps heat quickly, and it doesn’t collapse when damp. The fit is clean enough for everyday wear but still technical enough for hikes or approaches."Cold mornings on the trail and breezy afternoons in town feel more manageable with the Crag IN Hooded Jacket. Mammut designs this layer around LOOPINSULATION—a synthetic fill made from recycled rope scraps—creating warmth that rivals heavier pieces without feeling bulky. With its recycled outer fabric and PFC-free DWR, the jacket adds wind and moisture resistance when conditions slip into the unpredictable. As we move through the day, elastic cuffs, a streamlined hood, and a clean hem keep the fit close and efficient, sealing in heat when temperatures dip. Zippered pockets store essentials and warm chilled fingers, while the regular fit layers smoothly over base and midlayers. Built to stay comfortable from sub-zero starts to relaxed, scenic pacing, this insulated piece delivers warmth with a responsible footprint.
