What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I took the Alto Light HS Hooded Jacket on a long day hike where the weather was anything but predictable, and the underarm vents were a game changer when the climb heated up fast. The DRY Tour laminate kept the rain out completely on a surprise afternoon storm, and the whole thing stuffed into its own pocket so I barely knew it was in my bag on the approach."The trailhead sign says eight miles, the sky says maybe, and you say let's go anyway. That's exactly the situation the Mammut Alto Light HS Hooded Jacket was built for. Lightweight enough that you forget it's clipped to your pack, bomber enough that you're glad it's there when the clouds roll in fast, and the temperature drops ten degrees before the summit.Mammut built the Alto Light HS around their 2.5-layer DRY Tour laminate, crafted from recycled polyester and finished with a PFC-free DWR treatment that sheds rain without compromise. The stretch-friendly fabric moves with you on technical terrain, the adjustable hood cinches down when the wind picks up, and the underarm zipper vents let you regulate temperature without stopping to strip off a layer. It packs into its own pocket when the sun comes back out, and it's ready again the moment you need it.
