What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I've used this pack on fast alpine days where the goal is to move light and not stop much, and the chest pocket soft flask carry is a genuine convenience when you're trying to stay in a rhythm. At 13 ounces it disappears on your back, and the rolltop gives just enough flex to stuff an extra layer in when conditions shift."Fast days in the mountains call for a pack that keeps pace without asking for compromise. The Mammut Aenergy 18L Daypack was designed around that idea, pulling inspiration from running vests to create a carry system that moves with the body instead of against it. From pre-dawn approaches to summit pushes where every ounce is felt, this pack earns its place when the goal is the top and the plan is to get there quickly. The running-vest-style shoulder straps feature two integrated chest pockets sized for soft flasks, keeping hydration accessible without breaking stride or unshouldering the pack. A bungee sternum strap flexes with each breath on steep terrain, and the lightly padded back panel provides just enough structure to keep the load stable without adding unnecessary bulk. The rolltop closure unlocks an additional two liters of capacity for the days when a rain layer or extra snacks need to come along, and a front stash pocket keeps a shell within reach when weather moves in fast. Built primarily from recycled nylon, the Aenergy 18L delivers a construction that's as conscientious as it is capable.
