When Lacoste set out to better his own game as an athlete, he didn’t know that he would become revolutionary in fashion as well as a pioneer in his sport, tennis. He invented the metal tennis racket, which was lighter than the then conventional wooden racket, the machine that fires tennis balls so that a player could practice on their own, when they don’t have an opponent to fire back. He invented the polo as we know it, going against the dress code of long sleeve shirts, developing a top with short sleeves and a ribbed collar for flexibility and ease of movement. He also was the first to put a logo on a garment, the crocodile, which has since become iconic and is still used on Lacoste clothing today, including this Lacoste tee, which is a goes-with-anything piece crafted of organic cotton jersey in a timeless short sleeve silhouette you can move comfortably in.
