The
Lacoste Boys Off Court Woven Tracksuit in Black is a two-piece tracksuit set for boys aged 2 to 16 years, made from 100% woven polyester in Vietnam. It sits across both the Activewear and Loungewear collections at Childsplay Clothing and is part of Lacoste’s Off Court line — a sub-range within the Lacoste Kids collection that applies the brand’s tennis-heritage aesthetic to casual and athleisure pieces designed for everyday wear rather than on-court sport.
The woven polyester construction is the defining characteristic of this tracksuit and what separates it from fleece or jersey tracksuit sets. Woven polyester has a smooth, flat surface with a slightly structured drape — it doesn’t stretch in the way that jersey does, and it doesn’t have the soft pile of fleece. The result is a tracksuit that holds its shape, resists creasing, and has a neater, more tailored silhouette than a standard sweatshirt-fabric set. This makes it appropriate for a wider range of occasions than a typical fleece tracksuit: it reads as smart-casual rather than purely sporty, which means it works for school non-uniform days, casual social occasions, and everyday wear without looking like purely functional sportswear. The plain black colourway reinforces this — black is the most versatile and occasion-neutral colour for a boys’ designer tracksuit, and the Lacoste Off Court branding gives it a considered finish without relying on heavy logo placement. This is a designer boys’ tracksuit that covers the full age range from toddler to teen, made in Vietnam.
Buying Advice
Woven vs fleece: If you’re choosing between this woven tracksuit and a fleece or jersey tracksuit, the key question is occasion and silhouette. The woven polyester gives a neater, more structured appearance that works across smart-casual contexts; a fleece tracksuit is softer and warmer but reads as more casual. For boys who need a tracksuit that works for school non-uniform days and social occasions as well as everyday wear, the woven construction is the more versatile choice.
Styling: Black woven tracksuits are one of the most versatile pieces in a boy’s wardrobe. This one pairs with white, grey, and navy trainers without clashing, and the plain design means it doesn’t compete with patterned or graphic tops worn underneath. For older boys and teens, the Off Court aesthetic works well with the current trend for heritage sportswear — Lacoste’s brand identity is a deliberate style reference at this age.
Care: Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Turn inside out before washing to protect the outer surface and any branding. Wash with similar dark colours. Avoid tumble drying on high heat to preserve the fabric’s structure. Do not iron directly on any branded areas. The woven polyester resists creasing well, so ironing is rarely needed.
