The
Lacoste Baby Sherpa Romper in Beige is a one-piece sherpa romper for babies aged 3 to 9 months, made from 100% polyester in Vietnam. It sits in both the Gifting and Loungewear collections at Childsplay Clothing — a dual positioning that reflects how this piece actually gets used: as a cosy indoor outfit for everyday wear, and as a considered new baby or seasonal gift from a recognisable designer brand.
Sherpa is a synthetic fleece fabric with a dense, plush pile on one side that mimics the texture of sheepskin — it’s one of the softest and warmest fabric choices for baby clothing, and it holds its texture and warmth through washing better than natural fleece alternatives. The beige colourway is genuinely unisex — not a compromise between pink and blue, but a warm neutral that works as a standalone colour choice for any baby. It coordinates naturally with cream, white, and camel tones, and photographs well, which matters for a piece that will appear in a lot of early baby photos. The romper format — a one-piece with no waistband — is the most practical construction for babies at this age: no separates to coordinate, no pressure on the abdomen, and easier access for nappy changes than a two-piece outfit. This is a designer baby romper that works as hard as it looks.
Buying Advice
Indoor vs outdoor use: The sherpa romper is primarily an indoor and loungewear piece — it provides warmth for home, visits, and short outings in mild cold weather, but it’s not designed as outerwear for sustained outdoor use in cold conditions. For outdoor use in cold weather, layer the romper under the Lacoste Baby Solid Pramsuit or a similar outer layer.
As a gift: The sherpa romper is one of the most practical new baby gifts in the Lacoste Kids Nursery range — it’s unisex, immediately useful in the cooler months, and from a brand that parents recognise. If buying as a gift without knowing the exact birth date, sizing up to 6 or 9 months is advisable, as newborn and 3-month sizes are outgrown quickly.
Care: Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle or delicate cycle. Do not tumble dry on high heat — high heat flattens the sherpa pile and reduces its softness permanently. Lay flat or hang to dry. Do not iron. Avoid washing with items that have exposed zips or velcro, which can snag the pile. Wash before first use.
