HISTORY ASPECTS - The Douglas A-20G “Little Chief” operated by the 321st Bombardment Squadron of the United States Army Air Forces in 1944 was part of the versatile and widely used light attack bomber family developed by Douglas Aircraft Company. The Douglas A-20 Havoc was designed as a fast, low-altitude strike aircraft capable of delivering bombs, rockets, and strafing fire against enemy ground targets. The A-20G variant introduced a solid nose packed with forward-firing machine s, transforming the aircraft into a highly effective ground-attack platform. By 1944, aircraft like “Little Chief” were heavily engaged in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. The 321st Bombardment Squadron operated primarily in support of Allied ground forces, conducting low-level attack missions against German troop concentrations, transport networks, bridges, and fortified positions. Flying from forward airfields in England and later on the continent after D-Day, A-20G crews played a crucial role in disrupting enemy logistics and softening defenses ahead of advancing Allied armies. The A-20 Havoc was widely respected for its speed, maneuverability, and ability to survive intense low-altitude combat environments. In the final phases of the war in Europe, aircraft like “Little Chief” supported rapid Allied advances through France and into Germany, contributing to the collapse of Axis defensive lines. The type also saw extensive service in other theaters of the war, including the Pacific and North Africa, where its flexibility made it a valuable multi-role light bomber and attack aircraft. This 1 - 72 scale model is a striking tribute to one of World War II’s most effective light attack aircraft. Featuring authentic USAAF markings and the powerful -nose configuration, it captures the aggressive stance and frontline role of the Havoc in combat. Perfect for collectors of WWII aviation and ground-attack aircraft, this replica is a must-have display piece; add it to your collection today for a bold and historic centerpiece.
