Brand new 1/400 scale diecast airplane model of the McDonnell Douglas MD-90, Japan Airlines, registration JA002D, features a detailed exterior in white with a red tail and comes in a brand new box. This true-to-scale model does not include a stand or any openings and is made of diecast metal with some plastic parts, measuring approximately L-4.25, Wingspan-3.25 inches, offering durability and a realistic feel. Delivered in 1995 to Japan Air System as part of the airline’s modernization strategy, JA002D represented a quieter, more efficient, and environmentally conscious aircraft with its IAE V2500 engines and stretched fuselage. It operated on busy domestic routes connecting cities like Tokyo, Sapporo, Fukuoka, and Naha, often displaying JAS’s iconic rainbow livery. Following the 2004 merger with Japan Airlines, JA002D continued service before being retired, marking a transitional era in Japanese aviation. This 1 - 400 scale model captures the aircraft’s distinctive design and vibrant livery with precise markings and accurate proportions, making it an essential collectible for enthusiasts of Japanese domestic aviation.
