What sets the Flashpoint 10' Century C Stand Kit apart is its embodiment of the storied C Stand tradition, offering robust and dependable support for lighting and modifiers in both cinema and still photography studios. This kit boasts a towering 10-foot, two-tier, spring-loaded riser column, complete with a baby pin on top for secure equipment mounting. The removable turtle base features self-locking legs that ensure swift setup and compact storage, with the ability to adjust each leg to any angle for unparalleled versatility. The 'Turtle Base' is ingeniously designed to maintain a low center of gravity, preventing off-axis gear from tipping, especially when paired with the included saddlebag-style sandbags for extra stability. The staggered, curved leg design not only allows for nesting multiple C Stands in close quarters but also enables the lower leg to slide under furniture or props, optimizing studio space.Included in the kit are two aluminum 3.0" grip heads and a 40" extension boom arm, which seamlessly integrates into the grip heads, allowing for precise positioning of light modifiers, arms, scrims, flags, gobos, or smaller lights. The 5/8" diameter arm, coupled with the Grip/Gobo/KnuckleHead, can function as a short boom, proving invaluable for intricate setups, from supporting reflectors to securing delicate items with clamps. The cast aluminum grip heads feature interlocking surfaces, ensuring a steadfast hold when accessories are mounted on the steel arm, which offers four different diameter channels for versatility. The jaws can expand up to 1-1/8", accommodating a variety of rods and studs, while the channel disks pivot around the central tightening handle, designed with grooves for a secure friction hold. The Flashpoint 10' Century C Stand Kit is a testament to the rich history of the Century Stand, originating from the early days of motion picture production. These stands have evolved from simple reflector supports to indispensable tools in a modern image maker's arsenal, retaining the ability to nest together as efficiently as their predecessors. The included spring clamps provide an extra set of hands, with spring-operated jaws for quick and efficient material handling, ideal for situations where light pressure and rapid application are key.Rounding out this comprehensive kit is the Flashpoint Empty Saddle Sandbag, crafted from durable, water-resistant cordura nylon. Designed to anchor your gear securely, this sandbag can be filled with up to 15 pounds of weight, such as sand or rocks, and features a double zipper closure for containment and two robust handles for easy manipulation. Its saddle-style design is perfectly suited for use on light stands, boom arms, and other studio equipment, ensuring your setup remains stable and secure during shoots. In summary, the Flashpoint 10' Century C Stand Kit is an essential, high-quality, and multifaceted tool for photographers and filmmakers seeking a durable, sturdy, reliable, versatile, and professional-grade lighting support system..
