What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I have been throwing the Bacano on over everything this fall, and it has become one of those layers I genuinely look forward to wearing. The high-pile fleece is noticeably plush without feeling overdone, and the retro patchwork colorblocking gives it a look that stands out without trying too hard."Not every piece needs to be a technical achievement. Sometimes the best layer is just one that feels great, looks good, and makes a chilly morning worth stepping outside for. The Cotopaxi Bacano Fleece Vest is exactly that. The high-pile recycled polyester fleece is soft in a way that is hard to describe until you put it on, and the higher neckline adds just enough coverage to make it feel like a real layer rather than an afterthought. The retro-inspired patchwork design gives the Bacano a character that sets it apart from the sea of plain fleece vests out there, and the exposed zipper hand pockets keep the look clean while still handling the essentials. Elastic binding at the armholes and hem holds everything in place and seals out drafts when the wind picks up. Whether it ends up as the outermost layer on a mild afternoon or a midlayer under a shell on colder days, the Bacano earns its spot in the rotation quickly and tends to stay there.
