What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I wear this when I know I’ll be out in direct sun for hours. The cooling effect is legit, especially when the breeze picks up, and it dries fast after a sweaty hike or a splash from the boat. The thumbhole cuffs and sunglasses loop are small details that make long days on the water run smoother."We set out into a perfectly clear morning, trusting the PFG Wild Cast Sun Shirt from Columbia to keep us steady as the sun climbs high and reflects across open water. The fabric feels cool from the start, helping us settle into the rhythm of casting, wading, and exploring without overheating during long stretches under a cloudless sky. Broad-spectrum UPF 50 coverage lets us stay out longer, knowing our skin has full protection even in the brightest conditions. As the heat intensifies, Omni-Freeze and Omni-Wick work together to move sweat away from the skin, helping us stay dry and comfortable whether we’re hauling gear, paddling, or working a long drift. Quick-drying fibers keep the shirt light after spray or activity, while the stretch construction supports easy movement. Sun-blocking cuffs with thumbholes extend coverage over the hands, and the sleeve sunglasses loop keeps our eyewear secure when we stop to tie rigs or adjust lines. When warm days demand cooling performance, this shirt helps us stay focused on the water.
