What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"The Columbia Sandy River Printed 5in Short III has become my default warm weather hiking short because it handles a surprisingly wide range of days without missing a beat. The Omni-Shield Release kept them looking clean through a muddy creek crossing and a messy trailside lunch, and the elastic drawcord waist dialed in a comfortable fit over a long day without any pressure points."The best warm weather days tend to combine a little bit of everything, a trail in the morning, a creek in the afternoon, a patio somewhere in between, and the Columbia Sandy River Printed 5in Short III is exactly the kind of short that keeps up through all of it. The printed design brings a relaxed personality to the day while Omni-Shield Release technology keeps things looking fresh by resisting fluids and releasing stains from the quick-drying nylon before they have a chance to settle in.UPF 30 sun protection covers the open and exposed stretches, and the elastic waist with an interior drawcord keeps the fit comfortable and secure whether the pace is a mellow walk or a scramble up a rocky section of trail. Hand pockets handle the small essentials and a zippered back pocket locks down anything worth keeping close. This is a short that earns its place in the pack by being the right answer for almost any warm weather day.
