What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I keep the Columbia Back Bowl II Hooded Windbreaker stashed in my kid's bag as the default grab-and-go layer, and it has earned that spot completely. The UPF 40 coverage is a genuine bonus for long days at the park or on the trail, and the water-resistant fabric has handled plenty of unexpected drizzles without anyone having to cut the day short."Some jackets are reserved for serious weather days. The Columbia Back Bowl II Hooded Windbreaker is the one that gets grabbed for everything else, the walk to school, the afternoon at the park, the weekend hike that might see a little drizzle. Water-resistant fabric sheds light moisture before it soaks in, and UPF 40 sun protection covers the open, sunny stretches when the hood comes down and the day heats up.Binding on the hood and cuffs adds a clean, finished look that holds up through the kind of active daily use that tests construction quickly, while a chin guard keeps the zipper comfortable on full zip-up. An elastic hem seals out drafts without requiring any adjustment, hand pockets handle small essentials, and the lightweight polyester build makes it easy to stuff into a bag and forget until it is suddenly the most useful thing they brought.
