After setting a new benchmark in mid-level astronomy equipment, the Celestron Advanced VX 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope stands out as a powerful and versatile tool for both imagers and visual observers. This high-quality telescope is engineered to capture 33% more light than an 8" model, ensuring that stargazers can enjoy brighter and more detailed observations of the cosmos. The innovative Schmidt-Cassegrain optical design of this telescope not only maximizes light gathering capabilities but also eliminates chromatic aberration, making it an excellent choice for those beginning their journey into astroimaging. The Advanced VX 9.25" telescope is designed with portability in mind each component, including the optical tube and tripod, has a manageable weight of no more than 20 lbs, facilitating easy transportation and assembly by a single individual. The Advanced VX mount, a cornerstone of this telescope, is built to deliver superior performance and incorporates Celestron's most advanced technologies. With features like All-Star Polar Alignment, Celestron PWI telescope control software, SkyAlign, and permanently programmable periodic error correction (PPEC), this mount is ideal for seasoned imagers seeking the convenience of a larger observatory mount in a portable package. Beginners will also find the Advanced VX mount to be a supportive tool that grows with their skills, offering a smooth introduction to the hobby with the potential to meet their evolving needs for years to come. The computerized German equatorial mount of the Advanced VX is the smallest in Celestron's lineup, yet it does not compromise on functionality. Its GoTo capability with automatic tracking allows astronomers to effortlessly follow celestial objects across the night sky. The mount is equipped with multiple ports, including connections for a hand control, an autoguider, and two AUX ports for additional accessories. The intuitive NexStar+ hand control provides instant access to all mount functions, with automatic slewing and menu descriptions that make it user-friendly for astronomers at any level.Stability is a key feature of the Advanced VX, which boasts a robust tripod with 2" diameter steel legs, offering a solid foundation for the telescope and any attached accessories. The payload capacity of the mount is an impressive 30 lbs, providing a sturdy platform without including the weight of the counterweights. As of early 2019, the Advanced VX mounts have been upgraded to include a new dual saddle plate compatible with both CG-5 and CGE-style dovetails, allowing for seamless transitions between different optical tubes within the weight limit.Included with the telescope is the Celestron PWI Telescope Control Software, co-developed with PlaneWave Instruments, which serves as a comprehensive astronomy software suite. This graphical planetarium interface includes PointXP advanced mount modeling, enabling precise alignment and tracking. It's also ideal for remote observatory setups, with features that allow you to save and reload your alignment and park your scope. To enhance your stargazing experience, the telescope comes with an accessory kit that includes a night vision flashlight, sky maps, a moon filter, and an optical cleaning kit.
9.25" (235mm) f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain includes StarBright XLT coatings for better light transmission.
The most compact and portable of Celestron's German equatorial mounts offers the same rigidity as our larger mounts with minimal flexure and an improved industrial design.
Holds a maximum instrument capacity of 30 lb.
Every feature an astroimager wants: PEC, an autoguider port, the ability to image across the meridian, and more.
NEW dual saddle plate is compatible with the narrow dovetail and larger CGE dovetail.
