The
Casablanca Boys Gradient Wave Crochet Shorts in Blue are boys' designer crochet shorts made from 100% cotton, available for boys aged 3 to 14 years. Constructed using the same gradient wave crochet technique as the matching Casablanca Boys Gradient Wave Crochet Shirt, these shorts form the bottom half of a coordinated fashion-house set — the wave pattern is built into the crochet structure itself rather than printed or embroidered over a plain base, meaning the design is integral to the fabric. Part of the AW2026 Holiday Shop collection at Childsplay Clothing, these are luxury boys' shorts positioned as occasion and holiday-season statement pieces rather than everyday casual wear.
Crochet shorts at this construction level occupy a specific and narrow wardrobe position: they are more visually distinctive than any woven or jersey short, entirely impractical for sport or active outdoor use, and best suited to occasions where the short format is appropriate and the craft quality of the garment can be appreciated. For the right occasion — a warm-weather holiday, a family celebration in a warmer climate, a destination event — they are one of the most distinctive boys' shorts options available in the children's designer market.
Buying Advice
Care for crochet shorts follows the same principles as any open-work cotton construction: handwash or machine wash on a delicate cycle at 30°C in a mesh laundry bag to prevent the crochet loops snagging against other items in the drum. Lay flat to dry — do not hang while wet, as the weight of damp cotton crochet will cause the fabric to stretch and distort at the waistband. Do not tumble dry or iron. Store folded. The waistband construction is worth checking at purchase: a crochet waistband without an inner lining or elastic backing can roll and twist more readily than a structured woven waistband, so ensure the waistband sits flat and is properly finished before wear. For younger boys aged 3 to 6, size up by one bracket to allow for movement and to reduce the risk of the crochet catching on rough surfaces during normal activity.
