The races and balls start out as 52100 steel, then are given an acid bath to make them resistant to corrosion. They are angular contact bearings (ACB), which deflect both axial and radial loads. The sealed cartridges use what Cane Creek likes to call a Split Lip Seal, which features two contact seals per side to keep out contaminants and hold in grease.The Cane Creek 40-Series ZS44/28.6 Short Top Assembly is polished and anodized Black.
